Repeaters

What is a repeater?

So, imagine a redstone repeater…

Network repeaters work on the Physical layer and boost signals and reduce noise, unlike an amplifier, which increases both noise and signal.

They're a simple way to extend network range and ensure good signal quality.

  1. Usage scenarios
    • wired repeaters;
    • wireless repeaters;
    • optical repeaters.
  2. Data handling
    • analog repeaters;
    • digital repeaters.
  3. LAN domain location
    • local repeaters;
    • remote repeaters.

==== Shortcomings ==== FIXME

  1. Lack of data filtering or segmentation.
  2. The number of repeaters must be limited.
